How to Get Your RV Ready For Storage

With the winter months starting to come it is time to think about storing all of your summer toys. An RV is a great thing you can store in Baytown Storage. There we will keep your RV safe during the winter. There are many things you need to do to get your RV ready for storage. Here I will give you some advice on what you need to do to get your RV ready for the long winter months.

First of all if you don’t have a cover for your RV go get one. Covers are great. They will help protect it while it sits for the next couple of months. The next thing I would do is a deep cleaning of your RV. Make sure all food and liquid is out. If you left any of that inside it would stink up your RV so make sure that there is no food or liquid inside. Then just clean your RV. A deep cleaning will be so nice as soon as you pull your RV out for the summer. After you do an interior cleaning pre your exterior. A service center can also help you in this by checking the roof, sidewalls, seams, windows, ect. Just make sure that everything on the outside is clean and working great.

As soon as you’re done take your RV into your storage unit. Inside make sure you protect your tires. They may become susceptible to damage if not stored correctly. There are often tire covers available at RV dealerships, so just go buy one and cover up those tires. Disconnect your batteries and check the charge about every 6 weeks. Before you leave your unit add fuel stabilizer into your gas tank this will keep any gas inside stabilized all winter long. Finally just check in on your RV as often as you can. This way you can make sure your RV stays stored and safe during these upcoming winter months.
