Storage 101

Tips for make your yard sale a successful one

Yard sales are a great way to declutter your house, and make some money in the meantime. If you find things that you want to keep while you are decluttering your house and you find that you do not have any room for it in your house then you can store it in your Endicott Storage unit. Here are a few of our favorite tips for having a successful yard sale.

Spread the word

The best way to get people to come to your yard sale is to market it, and get the word out there. Use your social media accounts to post and create stories about it, also have your friends and family post it on their accounts so that all of their followers will see it. Put posters giving the address, date, time and directions around town, with arrows that point the way. Make this poster big, bold, and colorful so they will draw in more attention.

Get help

You do not have to plan and do this all by yourself. It can be tricky to get everything done, and when multiple people start showing up it can be hard to handle. Enlist your family, friends, your neighbors, and their friends. Get anyone and everyone to help you. They can help you with the planning, setting up, and the take down and clean up. Everything is more fun when you are surrounded by people you love.

Organize your layout

No one likes having to dig through things at a yard sale. Before the event starts, make a plan and have a set layout. Sort things into certain areas so everything can be easier to find. If you have the time make labels with the prices of the items, so you can have a set price before it starts.

Most importantly: Have Fun!!!

Make your yard sale a fun and enjoyable place for people to visit. Play some music in the background to give everything a more lively mood. Make sure to have water and refreshment to keep everyone happy. Have fun!
